We are closed. We're at home. But we are on-line!
We have moved into the virtual world but keep working on the programmes for you. We hope to at least partially compensate for the possibility to visit the Moravian Gallery in person.
So, what do we have and what are we working on?
#moravskagaleriedoma
The number one event on our Facebook and the web site www.moravska-galerie.cz will be the project with the #moravskagaleriedoma hashtag. It will be continually fed with the latest on-line information related to our collections and to what's going on in the visual arts in general.
Program for exhibitions
Unfortunately, our two big exhibition projects Rajlich 100 and Rafani are now closed, but we will try to bring them closer to you. On our YouTube channel you can currently find curatorial comments on the Rajlich 100 exhibition or last streaming performance of art group Rafani.
Five minutes Art(w)alk
Do you want to improve your English and learn something interesting about works from the MG collections, but don't have many opportunities to practise your conversation right now? We are preparing short videos from MG exhibitions and expositions with our great teacher Sonya just for you. First episode: https://bit.ly/3d1iuwH
Art History Online Courses
We sold out both of our art history courses (Phenomena and From Antiquity to the Present) before they started, and thus we offer a second chance for those who did not make it. In our offer you will also find reruns of previous lectures.
on-line collections
All artefacts from the collections of the Moravian Gallery are available in the database: http://sbirky.moravska-galerie.cz/katalog. You can immerse yourself in it right now and resurface in a few weeks. We will use paintings, sculptures and other works from the collections to create interactive entertainment for you - such as that Monday will be made into the day of Instagram and Facebook stories, you can look forward to riddles and quizzes!
videos
If you want to relive an exhibition opening or listen to an interview with an artist, check our YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/videaMG/playlists.
The latest addition is a look back at the exhibition HOUSE SITTERS by Eva Eisler and Peter Demek, which was installed in Jurkovič House.
The Artothek
Unfortunately you cannot borrow art for your home at the moment but our youngest extension - The Artothek - will keep you remotely flush with short fresh interviews with artists or, alternatively, with downloadable worksheets - either on the website http://artoteka.moravska-galerie.cz or the Facebook page of Artotéka Brno.
for children
You will not miss your favourite regular programmes! On Wednesdays the Book Club programme in English, on Thursdays the Afternoon in Colour and the Saturday Workshops will be transformed into an easy on-line format. On the day and at the time that you have become used to you can visit the Facebook page of Moravian Gallery For Children and get creative with us - while being at home! Under the Education tab on our website you will also find the MG for Children at Home file. We are gradually uploading all kinds of pastime activities there, such as colouring or cut-out sheets or search games.
books and publications
What we are working on right now are excerpts from books or publications that we have published or plan to or ones where we have collaborated in their publication. We will gradually present them to you via our website and Facebook.
podcasts
We are working hard on creating podcasts in case your eyes start aching from all those computer screens. We would like to give an opportunity to actors and presenters to be heard in these difficult times.
