Introspection of the Jurkovič House by A1 architects.
Each building designed by architects is exclusive in its own way. But in each of them we can find a hidden part of the personality of its author. In some, the accent is laid on the prestigious and aesthetic qualities of the building, while others enthral us by the ingenious thinking behind the architectural space. Elsewhere, they are characterised by a striking building structure and brave technological solutions, or the primary interest may be the perfect organisation of all actions taking place inside or outside the building.
The architectural work of the A1 architects studio clearly shows that they are interested in capturing the broad spectrum of what is related to man's need to inhabit a space. Their approach absorbs something of a therapeutic role through which they reveal the principles of the psychology of living in a house. With this expertly setup A1 architects examine the space of the Jurkovič House to expose the so-far undisclosed facts that explain the human dimension of Dušan Jurkovič and testify to the modernity of his ideas and work. The introspection is also motivated by the 150th anniversary of the birth of Dušan Jurkovič.
The exhibition was realized thanks to financial support provided by the European Regional Development Fund and by the state budget of the Czech Republic, within the Bilateral Networks of Design project.
