National Award for Student Design 2016 * NOMINATIONS!

The exhibition will present works nominated for the National Award for Students’ Design 2016. This year students could submit works which fall under the visual communication category – i.e. graphic design, posters, books, brochures, corporate design, typography, navigation and orientation systems, experimental approaches to graphic design, graphic design in multidisciplinary collaboration, applied graphics, advertising photography related to design, graffiti, digital media, motion design and new media.

The National Award for Students' Design was announced by the Design Cabinet CZ foundation programme in 2008. It continues the line of competitions organized from 1991 till 2007 by the state-run Design Centre of the Czech Republic.

The aim of the competition is to connect schools and design students with industry, manufacturing, production and trade companies in the Czech Republic and abroad.

The competition is open to design students from all local and from foreign universities and colleges specializing in design. The competition is anonymous and the submitted works are assessed by three independent juries composed of teachers and independent experts, the best professional designers in the Czech Republic and respected prominent figures in the field who are not directly linked to teaching.

The awarded works can receive the mark of Good Students' Design, Excellent Students' Design, National Award for Students' Design *JUNIOR and National Award for Students' Design *GRAND.

The exhibition is organized in cooperation with Friends of MG and with financial support from the city of Brno.
