The exhibition "Doing Nothing and Other Works" is the first ever retrospective exhibition of works by this remarkable Czech artist over the past decade and a half. In terms of time it is signposted by Stratil's arrival to Brno in 1998. Building on a contrast between the extrovert and introvert elements inherent in his personality it proposes something of a schizophrenic dialectic offering an insight into his spiritual, playful and socially provocative work. The exhibition is being held to celebrate the Michal Ranný Award, which Václav Stratil received at the end of the last year. The exhibition is supported by the City of Brno.
