Reflecting developments in graphic design and visual culture for more than 50 years now, the International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno is one of the oldest and most significant events of its kind. The theme of the 26th edition of the Brno Biennial is education in the field of graphic design and visual communication.

The International Exhibition breaks from tradition in this Biennial by being wholly focused on the work of students rather than professionals. Its goal is to introduce a wide spectrum of school works and present the contemporary methods and approaches of educational institutions from around the world.
An international jury consisting of significant figures in graphic design will award several prizes, including the Grand Prix of the 26th International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno - Award of the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic, the Mayor of Brno Award, and the Czech Centres' Prize awarded to a graphic designer under 35.
All works created in a school context between 1 January 2010 and 31 December 2013 are eligible for the International Exhibition.
Bearing in mind the limitations of space, a selection committee of designers and theoreticians of design will assess each submitted work on the basis of its originality of approach, how innovatively it deals with specific tasks, and its aesthetic and functional qualities.
