Viennese Figurative Porcelain from the 18th Century

A formal table setting in the 18th century was made complete by porcelain figures and scenes. More than mere decoration, figurative porcelain conveyed particular meanings using the symbolism of plants, animals and various details. The hidden meanings were detectable to the contemporary observer, today we can attempt to take a look behind the curtains of a mysterious world.
