The results of the 48th year of the competition for the most beautiful Czech books of the year 2012 will be presented for the first time in the library of the Moravian Gallery in the Pražák Palace. This year a total of 230 book titles from 125 publishing houses and 40 student works from 6 art education schools were entered for the competition. The jury, presided over by the graphic designer Petr Krejzek, used a shortlist to select the three best books in each of the traditional categories. During the assessment work a debate concerning some of the fundamental principles regarding the evaluation criteria took place between the competition directorship and jurors, producing some suggestions which might change the future form of the competition so as to keep it lively and open. The exhibition in the Moravian Gallery will introduce both the winners in the individual categories as well as those awarded trade prizes and a number of short listed books.
