The permanent exhibition of applied art presents work by architect and designer Josef Hoffmann and the Wiener Werkstätte workshops (1903-1932).
"Set Table" symbolises the multifaceted nature of Hoffmann's oeuvre and, at the same time, refers to staple products of the Wiener Werkstätte output such as tableware, elaborate trays and cutlery, as well as seating furniture and other items. "Set Table" is also a symbolic reference to the connection between Brno and the life and work of Josef Hoffmann: the Wiener Werkstätte first introduced their products in a state museum at an exhibition with that title held in Brno in 1904.
