Brno Biennial 2012 International Competition

During the four summer months in 2012 the Moravian Gallery in Brno will again become the centre of important international events which every two years brings to Brno hosts of visitors with an interest in contemporary design.

The International Biennial of Graphic Design Brno was launched in 1963 and is the oldest exhibition of graphic design in the world. The main organisers are the Moravian Gallery in Brno and the Ministry of Culture of the Czech Republic.

In 2012 the Brno Biennial enters its 25th year with an innovative concept. The abandoning of the existing exhibition categories will make it possible to present what were truly the most interesting works in graphic design created over the past two years within the framework of the competition. The international competition sets out to introduce a wideranging spectrum of contemporary graphic design across different media and formats. The international competition is open to all professional graphic designers.

The competition exhibition which is open to all professional graphic artists is based on the quality of the submitted works assessed by an international team of curators:
Tomáš Celizna ( designer CZ )
Na Kim ( designer KR )
Adam Macháček ( designer CZ )
Radek Sidun ( designer CZ )
Marta Sylvestrová ( design theoretician CZ )
