Květa Pacovská studied in the studio of Emil Filla and graduated
from the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague.
Working in the media of graphic art, painting, conceptual art and
book design, she is a world-renowned author of tactile
three-dimensional book objects issued in limited editions by
leading world publishers, including Edition Les Grandes Personnes
in Paris, Ravensburger Buchverlag in Germany, Minedition,
Neugebauer Press in Austria, etc. Her designed books have been
translated into many languages and, alongside Europe, are also
published in the USA, Japan and China.
Her paintings, prints and paper structures were exhibited in a
number of museums and galleries throughout the world (Centre
Georges Pompidou in Paris, Museum für Angewandte Kunst in
Frankfurt, etc.) and she lectured at the ICOGRADA world congresses
in Hongkong and Seoul.
Between 1992-1994 she was a visiting professor at the Hochschule
der Künste in Berlin and in 1998 at Kingston University in the UK.
Between 1995-1997 she realized an art project for a garden in the
Chihiro Art Museum Azumino in Nagano in Japan. For her artistic
work in book design she has received the main awards at important
international exhibitions of book design, art and design. She is
the holder of the Hans Christian Andersen Award - IBBY, the
Vladimír Boudník Award for important contributions to graphic art
and in 1999 she received an honorary doctorate in design from
Kingston University in Great Britain.
To accompany the exhibition Květa Pacovská created an art-poster
which is available from the shops of the Moravian Gallery in Brno
together with the Časoprostor (Timespace) catalogue published in
2011 by the Regional Gallery in Liberec.
