From Fairy Tale to Fairy Tale

A novel take on the illustrations for the classic
fairy tales by the Brothers Grimm - Little Red
Riding Hood and Hansel and Gretel is the work of
the young artist Vendula Chalánková. Pencil and
paper as a means of artistic expression have been
replaced by leskimo, fleece, fabrics with colourful
patterns, lace, flashy sequins, scissors and, most
importantly, the Lada sewing machine. Little Red
Riding Hood received the Golden Ribbon award
in the art category of the competition for the most
beautiful children's book in 2009.
