Cyril Blažo (*1970) is an artist difficult to overlook in
the contemporary Slovak art scene. During his studies at the VŠVU
in Bratislava (1988-1994) he worked together with Boris
Ondreiček and Stano Dančiak jr in the free association
BLONDIAK. His clearly distinguishable vocabulary based on the
partial inversion of double-sided
reproductions from antiquarian books and journals recodes old
signs thereby triggering an interplay of mutually linked
interpretations.
