The opening of a jewellery box is always accompanied by keen suspense. The small boxes, made since time immemorial to keep ladies' and gents' most valued jewellery were, thanks to their content, richly decorated and became a jewel in themselves among furniture pieces. They were crafted by master woodworkers often with contributions by painters or jewellers. The exhibition will present the most interesting examples of jewellery boxes from modern times.
