The exhibition of the Brno Biennial 2006 laureates, who won Grand Prix with their collection of innovative cultural posters. Lizá Defossez Ramalho and Artur Rebelo both have B.A. Hons. degrees from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Porto and Master's degrees in Design Research from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona. In 1995, they co-founded R2-an Oporto-based design studio that specialises in Visual Communication Design. At R2 they work for a wide range of cultural organizations, artists and architects. Lizá and Artur have lectured in Graphic Design since 1999 - and coordinated various workshops and participated as speakers and jury members in numerous national and international events. They have been invited to a wide array of international exhibitions and their projects have been published in various specialized books and design magazines. R2's projects have won several international awards, including the Jury award, 9th Tehran International Poster Biennial, 2007; Honorable Mention, Hong Kong International Poster Triennial, 2007; Grand Prix, International Biennale of Graphic Design in Brno, 2006; 3rd Prize, 14th Chaumont International Poster and Graphic Arts Festival; Gold Prize, IPT-7th International Poster Triennial in Toyama, Japan 2003 and Certificate of Typographic Excellence in 2005, 2006 and 2007 from the Type Directors Club of New York, USA. Lizá and Artur are both members of AGI.
