The body of Petr Nikl's (* 1960) object Immediate Play Simulator is a grand piano, the sound board of which has been removed. Exposed strings covered with metal bowls, billiard balls, ping-pong balls, plastic sticks and a glass paperweight are stimulated to create sound by even the tiniest deliberate or accidental stroke from a player and by the inertial movement of the objects. The piece, created by the artist especially for the MG Collection of Artworks for the Blind and Visually Impaired, is intended for "immediate play of passers-by".
