In 1965 the Moravian Gallery, Brno acquired a collection of religious ritual fabric items from the property of the Premonstratensian monastery at Strahov, Prague. This exceptional series includes mitres, pontifical shoes and liturgical robes from the high baroque period. The elaborate cloths, embroidered in dyed silk, gold and silver threads, have never before been exposed to the general public. They will be returned to their original owner as part of post-communist restoration of religious property.
