Jiří Thýn (*1977) graduated from the Photography Department of VŠUP, the College of Applied Arts, Prague, spent one year at the AVU academy, Prague in the studio run by Vladimír Skrpel and Jiří Kovanda and at UIAH, Helsinki. Jiří Thýn´s directions in art build upon the subject of his studies, photography. He frequently incorporates the medium into elaborate installation compositions, together with objects and projections. His work has been presented at a number of collective shows and his firt solo exhibition took place in 2002. Jiří Thýn´s most recent major presentations include the Less exhibition organised by Hunt Kastner Artworks and participation in the planned Prague Biennale 4 in Prague - Karlín, 2009.
