Rudolf Kremlička

A retrospective of the Czech artist Rudolf Kremlička presents the many-faceted work of one of the founding fathers of modern Czech painting.

It showcases all aspects of his oeuvre, from early genre scenes influenced by Kremlička´s academic studies under Hanuš Schwaiger, through virtuoso variations on the female form in famous pictures of women dressing up, to sensual nudes from the final period of the artist´s short creative life. At the same time, the exhibition presents Kremlička as a sensitive landscape artist and brilliant portraitist. Apart from paintings in oil, a technique at which Kremlička excelled, the exhibition in oil, a technique at which Kremlička excelled, the exhibition includes drawings and graphics. The show is organised in collaboration with the Prague City Gallery.
