The Moravian Gallery in Brno has launched a unique project of an open space for everybody in the Governor's Palace courtyard. Newly installed architectural features designed by the CHYBIK+KRISTOF Associated Architects studio offer unlimited possibilities of relaxation, refreshments, games, reading, hanging around and meeting friends as well as more creative activities, all of this against the attractive backdrop of the permanent exhibition of early art.

The Governor's Palace courtyard in the heart of Brno is an oasis for everyone who wants to relax, meet friends, drink coffee, read, play or simply hang around after work, shopping or visiting exhibitions. Parents with children will find there a space for play and relaxation suitable for free movement, a space steeped in the genius loci of the courtyard and the Governor's Palace, a major historical building.

Throughout the summer, the courtyard will play host to a number of cultural, creative and also educational activities, most of them with free entry, for all age groups regardless of occupation, talent and potential for fun and leisure. The programme of events is available from the MG website.

"Open" is drenched in a unique atmosphere of the Governor's Palace,a historical building, cultural and exhibition institution and its genius loci.

SUMMER IN THE MG

The Moravian Gallery in Brno has prepared a rich summer programme taking place in the Governor's Palace courtyard within the "Open - come live in the centre" project. Visitors will enjoy dance Tuesdays, art Thursdays, film Sundays, concerts and panel discussions, as well as, for example, a summer course of body design. In July, there will be the "Rings in Water" exhibition presenting the winners of an international craft design competition, and a large exhibition of Daniel Balabán, winner of the Michael Ranný Prize 2012. Children can take part in traditional weekly art courses, this year in the Jurkovič House and the Governor's Palace.
