Loans
The library of the Moravian Gallery in Brno lends
publications from the dedicated book collections to the staff of
the institution, scholars and researchers in the field, to other
libraries and those interested from the general public possessing
a valid reader's membership card. Also it is possible to gain
access, for one day, to the reading room only on payment of
a one-off fee. The library users are free to use books from
the reference library, the periodicals and newspapers on show and
books from the new arrivals display. Other loans can be made
following an application.
Inter-library loans
This service is provided to readers registered in the
library of the Moravian Gallery in Brno, and only through other
libraries in the Czech Republic. Under the inter-library loans
we lend documents or make copies to libraries in the Czech
Republic. The inter-library loans scheme does not include documents
from the historical collection, exhibition catalogues and
magazines.

Books Exchange
- The library of the Moravian Gallery in Brno is one of the most
famous public libraries specialized in art literature in Czech
Republic. We are always working in cultural exchange and
cooperation with other libraries and research organizations around
the world. The library has long maintained good relationships with
100 national libraries and academic institutions, including: the
Library of Congress of the United States, Yale University Library,
Austrian Museum of Applied Arts Wien, Albertina, British Library,
Slovak National gallery, the National Library of Russia and
others.
- Our exchange partners we offer books, exhibition catalogues, and
magazines dealing with painting, sculpture, graphic design,
photography, and all genres of applied art.
- We invite you to establish relationship of book exchange. Our

Literature search
- This is a paid service for readers with
a valid membership card. Literature searches are made from the
books and exhibition catalogues in the book collections of the
library of the Moravian Gallery in Brno. The literature search is
requested in person and the customer will receive a list or
actual retrieved documents as agreed when applying for the literary
search.
Information
service
- The library provides an information service on how
to use the library, catalogues including the electronic catalogue,
and the book collections. The bibliographic - information
service from the field of visual art and related disciplines is
provided in writing, orally or in electronic format.
Price list
Membership fee
The annual fee is paid for a calendar year and amounts to:
students 50 CZK, others 100 CZK
Single visit for non-members: student 10 CZK, others 20 CZK
Library fines
For issuing a duplicate of the membership card in the case of
its loss the library charges 20 CZK.
Fines for overdue items: for every publication borrowed and for
every started month the reader will pay 10 CZK.

2. Literature search The basic fee (non-returnable) is paid in
advance when submitting a search request: processing within
one week 50 CZK, processing within 48 hours 100 CZK. The fee for
each retrieved title (record): processing within one week 6 CZK,
processing within 48 hours 12 CZK
3. Inter-library loan service
The fee for one title is 50
