
Soutěž Nejkrásnější české knihy roku 2008, jejíž výsledky bývají reprízovány v Moravské galerii v Brně, měla rekordní účast, přihlásilo se 129 nakladatelů s 248 knihami!
This year, the Most Beautiful Czech Books competition, the winners of which are annually showcased in the Moravian Gallery, saw a record number of entries. Some 129 publishers took part, with 248 books. The largest number of entries, 54 books, appeared in the scientific and specialist literature category, followed by 50 in belles lettres and 34 in the children's books category. The jury, chaired by Klára Kvízová, awarded prizes in six categories. New for this year was the Vojtěch Preissig Prize, awarded by the Association of Czech Bibliophiles. This year's winner is Paseka Publishing with its reprint of Josef Váchal's Šumava umírající a romantická [Šumava, Dying and Romantic].
