This work by Ivan Vosecký remotely refers to one of the icons of 20th century art, Guernica by Pablo Picasso /1937/. Although Picasso initially turned down a commission by the Spanish Republican Army, he changed his mind after learning the news of the bombardment at Guernica in Spain (26th April, 1937). In the Space for a Single Work of Art, Vosecký converted the painting into an object that he hung in three spatial planes in the middle of the rooms.
