Dvě stě šedesát let letos uplyne od záhadného úmrtí barona Františka Trencka, věhlasného i obávaného válečníka neodmyslitelně spjatého s Brnem. Výstava představuje hlavní osobnosti brněnské výtvarné scény jeho doby, tedy baroka, jejichž tvorba dalece přesáhla hranice města. Sbírkové předměty Moravské galerie v Brně, z nichž některé jsou vystaveny vůbec poprvé, doplňují zápůjčky především z církevního majetku.
This year it will be two hundred years since the mysterious
death of Baron Franz von der Trenck, a famous warrior linked with
the history of Brno. The exhibition presents the leading figures of
the Brno art scene of his time - the Baroque period - whose works
beyond the city limits. Items from the Moravian Gallery collection,
some of which are on show for the first time, will be added to by
exhibits on loan mainly from church property. The exhihibition is a
part of a large project.
The exhibition is part of a joint project organized in collaboration between the Baron Trenck Gallery, Brno City Archives, J. Mahen Library, Brno City Museum, Moravian Provincial Archives, Moravian Museum and others.
