International show of student work - the Price of Professor Jindřích Halabala

 

This year's 14th annual competition "the Price of prof. Jindřich Halabala 2018" will take place in the Governor's palace in Brno in the period from 9. 11. to 25. 11. 2018.

The exhibition will be opened on 8. 11. 2018 at 3 pm with the ceremony of announcement of the competition results and the openings in the Baroque hall of the Governor's palace.The event's program will take place in the morning from 9am in the Baroque hall of the Governor's palace Symposium intended for students and the general public on the topic of: the Evolution of furniture-making in south Moravia, the School and the student practice.

"The price of prof. Jinřich Halabala" is awarded annually to students of high schools in the Czech and Slovak republic or other country for the best semester projects in the field of design of furniture and interior design. The competition was created on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of prof. Jindřich Halabala and her 14th year will be according to its statute, in Brno. Patronage of the competition takes over the rector of the Mendel university in Brno, dean of the LDF Mendel university in Brno, the mayor of the statutory city of Brno, Cluster of Czech furniture manufacturers, the National center of furniture design and with the support of the Moravian gallery in Brno.

Student competition "the Price of prof. Jindřich Halabala" is an initiative of the Technical university in Zvolen, where Professor Jindřich willy-nilly as in a single higher education establishments of this kind in post-war Czechoslovakia, founded the study of the furniture industry. Institute of furniture, design and habitation, Mendel university in Brno organizes this year already 14. the annual competition.

In this year's international competition the Price of the prof. of Jindřich Halabala 2018 is registered 264 student work from 14 universities and 7 secondary vocational schools.

The prize is awarded in the category:

-           Design of furniture - thesis of the summary of work

-           Design of furniture - thesis of  the final work

-           Interior Design - thesis of the summary of work

-           Interior Design - thesis of the final work

-           Design of furniture and interior  - the category of High school
