Guest curator’s exhibition
Experimental Jetset: Two or Three Things I Know About Provo. The Brno Edition
In this exhibition, Dutch graphic design studio
Experimental Jetset will reflect on Provo, an Amsterdam anarchist
movement that existed between 1965 and 1967. By focusing on printed
material produced by the Provo movement, as well as various
post-Provo groups, Experimental Jetset aims to explore themes such
as the archivist as activist (and vice versa), the printer as
auteur and the relationship between the city and the printing
press. Undeniably, this exhibition will also have a strong personal
dimension, as Marieke Stolk, one of the three members of
Experimental Jetset, is in fact the oldest daughter of Rob Stolk
(1946-2001), one of the main founders of Provo.
This exhibition will be an extended version of the small,
impromptu installation that was displayed between February and
March, 2011, at Amsterdam art space W139. For the Brno Edition,
Experimental Jetset will transform the exhibition to fit within a
more international context.
